In the later part of 2024 Philip Thompson Ltd were asked to assist the Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston Community Company in the development of access paths and tracks with a 15 acre site close to the centre of the village. The overall development envisaged a place for nature, heritage and the whole community and by construction of a path would open up the area to form the framework for future areas of community amenity.

The initial stages of assistance included advice on technical issues and guidance on the planning process. Thereafter when the scope of works was fixed, the company provided more assistance and guidance on project budgets, timescales and Contractor selection. The Company managed the tender process including development of all the necessary contract documentation. A Contractor was selected using a scoring mechanism developed by the Company which addressed key issues such as:

• Health & Safety record
• Financial stability
• Environmental approach
• Project budget
